So, If Death Is Inevitable, Why Are people Still Afraid of It?
Are you really afraid of death? What is so scary about death? Are you afraid of death per se or the cause of death? Which is scarier: death itself, or the things that cause you to die?
One common reason why people do not want to die is that they are worried about those they would leave behind. No one wants to leave people they love as well as no one would want any of their beloved ones to leave.
Another common reason why people do not fantasize death is probably the prejudice that people would suffer before dying. After one is dead, who knows if he/she is still able to feel any suffering? So, be honest to yourself: it is not death itself you are afraid of but the cause of it. No one would want to imagine how gruesome it feels when their death is whispering upon his/her soul. Not surprisingly, many of us wish to have a peaceful moment when we leave the world too. Of course, there are many cases that people do not suffer before they die, but nothing can be guaranteed.
