Qt (Qt 2.3 and higher, any Qt 3) and qmake are required.
By default BOUML and the plug-outs are installed under /usr/lib/bouml, and the shell script named bouml is placed under /usr/bin. These paths are specified in the Makefile , change the locations if you want before doing the installation.
The shell script named bouml must be used to start BOUML, an argument may be given : this last must be a .prj file memorizing a BOUML project, and this project will be load.
Basically the following commands builds and installs BOUML :
In case your tar doesn't manage the z option do : gunzip < bouml_version.tar.gz | tar xf -
After the installation the directory used to compile BOUML may be removed. To just remove the objects do : make clean.
Depending on the options used to produce the Qt library you may have a problem during the link concerning the Motif, Motif plus and Windows styles. In this case compile BOUML defining the needed pre-processor variables QT_NO_STYLE_MOTIF, QT_NO_STYLE_MOTIFPLUS and QT_NO_STYLE_WINDOWS
