The new 156.93c.c. single-cylinder water-cooled engine uses the same eSP+ technology as the Forza 350, with thicker connecting rods, a newly designed crankshaft with a balance shaft and a hydraulic chain tightener to reduce engine vibration. Although the Honda PCX 160 has only 1ps more maximum power than the PCX 150, it is much more stable, more powerful and less uncomfortable than the single-cylinder engine.
 
The latest HONDA Enhanced Smart Power+ technology is used to create an engine with high combustion efficiency and low vibration. Thicker connecting rods, a newly designed crankshaft with a balanced shaft and a hydraulic chain tightener reduce the engine's vibration during operation. Oil splash technology reduces piston temperatures and removes waste heat to improve combustion efficiency.
 
Upgraded equipment for better riding convenience
The PCX 160 is equipped with HSTC traction control and a new dashboard with newly designed LED lighting, and the Smart Key keyless start from the previous generation is also retained. ABS anti-lock braking system.
 
The HSTC traction control system has been added to the rear wheels to reduce the risk of rear wheel slippage on bad roads. The full LCD instrumentation displays a wide range of information, with the HSTC traction system indicator visible on the far right. e:HEV Hybrid has a slightly different instrumentation, with an additional display for the power mode. The headlamps are newly designed with LEDs and the whole car is illuminated with LEDs. The tail lights are very similar to those of the Forza 350. The convenient keyless start has also been carried over to this generation, and the PCX 160 e:HEV is shown here in its normal plastic form. HONDA Thailand also offers a variety of decorative stickers to personalise the key. The PCX 160 is available with single circuit ABS on all but the lowest end versions.
 
The PCX 160 has 30L of storage space under the cushion (the e:HEV version has only 24L for the battery) and can accommodate not only a full helmet, but also additional space for gloves or other personal items.
