The new 156.93c.c. single-cylinder water-cooled engine uses the same eSP+ technology as the Forza 350, with thicker connecting rods, a newly designed crankshaft with a balance shaft and a hydraulic chain tightener to reduce engine vibration. Although the Honda PCX 160 has only 1ps more maximum power than the PCX 150, it is much more stable, more powerful and less uncomfortable than the single-cylinder engine.
 
The latest HONDA Enhanced Smart Power+ technology is used to create an engine with high combustion efficiency and low vibration. Thicker connecting rods, a newly designed crankshaft with a balanced shaft and a hydraulic chain tightener reduce the engine's vibration during operation. Oil splash technology reduces piston temperatures and removes waste heat to improve combustion efficiency.
